Hey beautiful mama,
Today I quickly want to share a little something that’s created more peaceful, more meaningful mornings for me.
I know you’re probably reading this while juggling a million things, maybe with your coffee getting cold again, but I promise this is going to help you find some clarity and direction in all the daily chaos. (hopefully not too much chaos!)
What I’ve been doing every morning
I wake up and before I even get out of bed, I meditate for 10-15 minutes with my daughter still next to me. I put on my headphones and use a Joe Dispenza meditation. Then after I drop her at school, I come home, make breakfast and coffee, and I sit down for just 10 minutes to journal.
But here is what I started doing in August: and I stole this little practice from Brian Tracy. Every single morning, I write down my 10 most important goals like they’ve already happened. I write them in present tense, with so much gratitude, as if I’m already living them. And I don’t look at what I wrote the day before.
Why this works for career transitions and your next chapter:
After about a week, you’ll start seeing which goals keep showing up over and over. Those are your real priorities, mama. The ones that never change? That’s your heart speaking. For me, there are maybe 3 or 4 that always appear, and one that’s always at the top. That’s my “single biggest thing” and it gives me such clear direction for my meaningful work.
It’s a quick 10-minute exercise you can try this morning: My Morning Ritual for Career Clarity
Or even better, find those 20 minutes total. 10 for meditation, 10 for writing your 10 goals in present tense. Don’t think too hard about it, just let them flow onto the page. Write them like you’re celebrating them already happening. It was a little harder in the beginning for me but after 3-4 days they just kept flowing out immediately.. but they did change over time.
Do this for a week without looking back. Don’t look at the previous pages.
Trust me, the patterns that emerge will show you exactly what kind of direction feels most authentic to you right now.
It will show you what’s important to you right now.
You deserve to have a life and work that lights you up, not just pays the bills. So this practice will help reconnect you to that purpose and help you see your path forward so much clearer.
I hope this helps, it certainly helped me!
P.S. My website program for female founders launches in September. Join the priority list at MamaWhat’sNext.com/join if building your online presence feels like one of those goals that keeps showing up and you’re ready to build your next chapter and your online home.
